Your Library Card

To apply for a card:
A library patron must complete an application before being issued a library card. Library cards are free of charge and will expire in 5 years. Any person 3 years or older may apply for a library card
An applicant must provide proper photo identification with proof of current address and a valid local telephone number (example: valid Texas Driver’s License or DPS identification, utility bill, or insurance verification).Additionally, applicants must provide a local reference; this must be someone who does not live in the same household as you. Applicants may be denied a card if sufficient information cannot be supplied.
The signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on the application of persons under the age of 17.
New cards will be prepared while you wait in the library, and a staff member will notify you of the procedures to verify that you have provided a working phone number.
Library materials must be checked out on your own card (not a spouse’s or other relative’s card). This is to protect you against the possibility of lost material charges or fines being charged to your card for materials you did not check out. You will be held responsible for any materials checked out on your card, no exceptions.
Please report lost cards or changes in address or telephone numbers to the library immediately. Failure to do so will result in inability to access computers. There is a $1.00 charge for any lost card, so please try to keep it in a safe place!
